La Collezione di Giulia Fornas, soluzione per il vestire di domani, per una donna idealmente proiettata in un futuro interplanetario, presenta caratteristiche che la rendono versatile, pratica, al contempo dotata di sue peculiarità. L’indagine svolta, muove da un dialogo con Fornas, da cui l’evidenza di come la collezione sia sorta da innumerevoli fonti di ispirazione.
Kabby Laurent, @unknownian sono le fonti dalle quali ha tratto il tema della sua collezione; mentre si è ispirata a @emoji_of_a_wave nella scelta della gamma coloristica; ma è Il capolavoro di Stanley Kubrick, 2001: A Space Odyssey, il cardine principale del suo lavoro, al quale si intrecciano altri e variegati riferimenti cinematografici, come First Man di Chazelle. La collezione attraversa l’attualità e si dispiega oltre. Una Fashion Season attenta alle più recenti campagne, quali la Calvin Klein Fall del 2018 o la collezione Moncler Craig Green Fall 2018. L’alba di un imminente tramonto? I due termini, apparentemente antitetici, si mescolano nella Collezione Fornas. Così i tessuti, naturali e sintetici al contempo.

Sono state, infatti, create stampe su fibre naturali, presso la stamperia ALL-OVER di Milano. Su di esse è stato sovrapposto PVC, per realizzare una linea dai colori freddi. Sul sottofondo di cambiamenti climatici, avvenimenti di un rosso acceso, Fornas sceglie il freddo, ispirandosi al paesaggio tipico della sua collezione: lo spazio, la luna e i suoi colori. Per la creazione delle stampe ha usufruito di software, quanto ai tessuti questi sono sia naturali, quali cotone, seta e lana, che sintetici, come poliestere e PVC. Il tutto gioca con l’apposizione di elementi quali bottoni a pressione, zip, chiusure metalliche, cinghie e piume.

Timing! Display, Tablet e Smartphone segnano, forse, l’alba di un imminente tramonto? La Collezione Fornas osa. I NEED MORE SPACE è un anelito? Una previsione? Certo versatile, a cominciare dalla possibilità di rimuovere le maniche dei piumini, adatta ad ogni domani. Quale il futuro di I NEED MORE SPACE? 
Fornas su questo tace. Occorrerà seguirla. Ma dove? Non di certo qui, sulla terra.
